This only applies to Windows XP.
You computer appears to take a long time to load at start up.
Cause
This behavior occurs when you have many different programs automatically
loading at start up.
Resolution
To prevent this from happening and limit the number of programs
to be loaded at start up, follow the steps below:
- Click on Start
- then Run
- Type msconfig
- Click ‘Ok’
- Click on the Startup tab
- In this tab there will be a list of programs which startup
with the computer.
- Remove the check mark from any program that you do not want
loading at start up.
- Only remove checks from the programs you are exactly sure
of.
