Removing Branding from Internet Explorer   Article ID: 0028

Symptoms

The top bar in the Internet Explorer says ‘provided by…..’ and lists an internet service provider you previously had.

Cause

This is caused by installing software from an internet service provider. By installing their software, they have branded your Internet Explorer.

Resolution

The following steps with remove the branding from your browser.

  1. Click Start
  2. Run and then type the following
  3. Rundll32 IedkCS32.dll, BrandCleanInstallStubs
  4. Then press enter
  5. Click Start
  6. Run and then type the following:
  7. Rundll32 IedkCS32.dll, Clear
  8. Then press enter
  9. Now restart and open your Internet Explorer
